Shirley said she didn’t have a set floorplan in mind when she walked in at Homeway’s Model Home Center in Goodfield, but she knew what she wanted and needed. She walked out after a long day with her plans for a two-bedroom, two-bath home that is totally accessible under the terms of the Americans With Disabilities Act. “We were there a long time, but it went very well. We got what we needed, the people there were very conscientious and listened to what I had to say. It was a very positive experience.”

She then got to watch the building process in the Homeway construction facility, a process she said made her even more of a believer. “I would definitely recommend Homeway to anyone,” Shirley said.

Well, fall is here. I guess we all know what’s next, huh?

Every house, no matters its age, needs to be properly prepared for the drastic change in temperatures we in the Midwest experience each year. Going from hot to cold at the drop of a hat is common; we need to be ready.

Here are some of our top tips for getting your house ready for winter.
• Make sure your heating system is clean and in good working condition.
• Make sure windows and doors are properly sealed.
• Clean your gutters.
• Turn off exterior faucets and divert water at least four feet away from the foundation.
• Reverse your ceiling fans when you turn the heat on.

Now sit back, light a fire in your fireplace and relax. Spring will be here before you know it.
