Running out of fun family activities to do at home? Here are a few suggestions that go beyond boardgames, puzzles and hide-and-seek.

1. Turn that family room into a soccer field. All you need is a small, soft ball and a little imagination to turn your family room into a soccer field. Move the chairs and couches to either end of the room and use as the goals!
2. Have a paper plane flying contest! There are all kinds of great paper plane designs online. Challenge the kids to make the most effective paper plane and have a contest to see which plane flies the farthest.
3. Make your own miniature golf course. You can use objects and items found around the home to create a fun and challenging mini-golf course. Have holes upstairs and down the stairs – you can even go outside!
4. Set up a waste-paper shootout. Take two buckets, wastepaper baskets, or large bowls and set them apart at a certain distance. Each child has a designated bucket and a stack of paper. They take the paper, crumple it, and shoot as many as they can in one minute. Play music to make it more fun!
